Qualcomm and Apple’s patent fights are not new for anyone who is keeping a track of the tech industry. The largest chipmaker and the largest smartphone-maker have not been on good terms for months. While Apple has been using Qualcomm modems in its iPhone handsets since years, it will be cutting cords starting this year. The news came from George Davis, Qualcomm’s finance head during the company’s earnings call for the third quarter.
