Facebook now says that its smarthome device will gather information for ads

Facebook recently took baby steps into the smarthome product segment with the launch of Portal and Portal +. The new Facebook devices take on smarthome gadgets from Google, Amazon and Apple. The device comes amidst all the heat regarding Facebook and the issues with privacy and security. To keep it clean, Facebook executives told Recode website that Portal won’t be extracting any kind of data or app usage to target users with ads.
